Privacy Policy for the RallyTrack Co-Pilot companion app
1. Purpose of the App
The RallyTrack Co-Pilot app is provided as a companion application to the RallyTrack rally organisation platform. It is intended exclusively for participants in organised rally events.
2. Location Data
The app collects your device's GPS location during an active rally event. Location data is used solely to:
- Allow rally organisers to monitor participant positions for safety purposes.
- Support rally organisation and event management.
- Display your current progress within the event.
The app does not collect your location outside of an active rally session initiated by you or the event organiser.
3. How Your Location Data Is Shared
During an active rally, your location is securely transmitted to the event organisers through the RallyTrack platform. Access to this data is limited to authorised organisers responsible for managing the event and participant safety.
4. Retention of Location Data
Location data collected during a rally is stored only for as long as necessary to conduct the event. Once the rally has been completed, all participant location data is permanently deleted from RallyTrack's systems.
Final scores, rankings, and other event results may be retained independently of location data where required for event records.
5. Other Event Information
The app may display information provided by the event organisers, including rally instructions, checkpoints, notices, schedules, scores and other event-related content. This information is processed solely for the purpose of conducting the rally.
6. Permissions
The app requests access to your device's location services in order to provide its core functionality. If location permission is denied, certain features of the app, including live tracking and participation in GPS-based rally activities, may not function correctly.
7. Data Security
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are implemented to protect personal data against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss. Data is transmitted using secure communication channels wherever reasonably practicable.
8. Legal Basis (GDPR)
Where the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) applies, personal data is processed for the purpose of performing the services associated with your participation in a rally event and, where applicable, based on the legitimate interests of ensuring participant safety, organising the event and providing rally-related services.
